Lap Joint/Loose Flanges have some primary benefits:

Absence of contact with the fluid in the pipe often allows the use of low cost carbon steel flanges with corrosion resistant pipe.

Freedom to swing around the pipe the benefit of this is that there will not be any concern with bolt hole alignment.

Size range: 1/2" to 24".

Pressure: 150lbs, 300lbs, 600lbs,...... 2500lbs.
